Kenji Otto MSGT USAF RETIRED

For Washoe County Clerk

What I will do as Clerk:

  • Ensure and enforce accountability, so there is accuracy in all aspects of each task, each office, and each department.
  • Eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse with all purchases made by government officials using taxpayer dollars. (We must value the taxpayer dollar and ensure every penny is spent prudently.)
  • Create and work for office and department cohesion: they are essential to achieve all goals.
  • Implement and streamline processes and tasks using employee input to improve workflows, to save time and taxpayer dollars.
  • I’ve developed a draft Public Comment card to assure all speakers are aware they can have their comments noted in the approved minutes.
  • I’ve research and determined public speakers can be prioritized. I will prioritize Washoe County residents as priority One.
  • I will work with Commissioners to put the Registrar of Voters back under the Clerk. Then split the database into Active and Locked Inactive. Have a program that deletes Inactive records after 2,5 or 10 years, to start.

Washoe County Commissioner Jeanne Herman has endorsed Kenji Otto for Washoe County Clerk.
